Project Brief Description

Darakhola Hydropower Pvt. Ltd. is developing a 6.5 MW Run-of-River (RoR) hydropower project in the Dar Khola region of Dhawalagiri Rural Municipality, Myagdi District, Nepal. The project is easily accessible via motorable roads, located 42 km from Beni and 300 km west of Kathmandu. The hydropower project utilizes water from Dar Khola, a tributary of the Myagdi River, which eventually feeds into the Kali Gandaki River. The project spans a catchment area of 62.7 km² with a gross head of 548 meters and a design discharge of 1.44 m³/s. The intake is situated at 1867 meters elevation, and the powerhouse is downstream of the confluence of Dar Khola and Myagdi Khola. The region is characterized by High Himalayan and High Mountain terrain, with over a third of the catchment covered by dense forest.
